Explorers

Upon completing their time as Scouts, young people aged 14 to 18 are ready to move on to the next adventure as Explorer Scouts. While 1st Bourne End Scout Group does not have its own Explorer section, we have a strong relationship with the Vulcan Explorer Scout Unit, which is part of the Marlow District. This unit offers a fantastic programme of exciting activities, expeditions, and skills training, all of which are planned and led by the Explorers themselves.

Moving On

Young Leaders

We believe that some of the best leaders are those who have experienced Scouting for themselves. That's why we encourage our former Scouts to return to the Group as Young Leaders. As a Young Leader, they get the opportunity to develop their leadership and communication skills by assisting our adult leaders and becoming a positive role model for our Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts.

The Young Leaders' Scheme is an exciting and valuable training programme that helps young people aged 14 to 18 develop and grow. By taking part in a mix of training modules and practical missions, they gain essential skills for life, build confidence, and can even count their service towards awards like their Duke of Edinburgh's Award. It’s a rewarding way to give back to the community and help the next generation of young people get the most out of their Scouting journey.
